Abi Charity
Behind every food parcel handed out and every well drilled lies an invisible but strict machinery. Norwegian law places strict requirements on charitable organisations: we are required to have an authorised accountant, an external state-authorised auditor and an approved, secure cash register system. These are not optional upgrades, but absolute requirements from the authorities for us to be allowed to continue our aid work.
To keep costs as low as at all possible, all the technical development, the website and the day-to-day administration are done 100% voluntarily, as dugnad (unpaid community work). This saves the organisation hundreds of thousands of kroner in consultancy and development services. But the law requires independent, state-authorised third parties for accounting and auditing – and they cost money.
By giving your Sadaqah to administration and operations, you make it possible for us to exist as a safe, lawful and transparent organisation. It is this fund that lets us keep our promise: that emergency relief and your Zakat reach those who need it most in full.
«Truly, Allah loves that when one of you does a piece of work, he does it in the most thorough and best way (itqān).»
The information above describes the actual framework for our operations. We never charge for voluntary work, and we show administrative costs openly so that no funds are transferred out of sight.
Every gift is recorded by an authorised accountant.
An external, state-authorised auditor checks the accounts.
An approved and secure cash register system makes every payment traceable.
The website, development and day-to-day running are done voluntarily, unpaid.
Add what you want to give to your basket. You can give to several projects in the same gift and pay for everything together.
The gifts here cannot be given as zakat. If you want to give zakat, you can do so on the zakat page.
